Patricia (Patty) Professional Biography
Patricia (Patty) Shull is a leadership & organizational mastery consultant and coach who leads people to achieve their highest choices in life. Since 1987, she’s used creative approaches to mentor leaders, entrepreneurs, coaches and trainers in global Fortune 500, non-profit, and government organizations to overcome challenges and discover new possibilities.
During the 90’s, she managed Compaq Computer Corporations training and development department and was responsible for training over 1,000 leaders. Promoted regularly for her contributions, she earned a global assignment that would deepen her abilities to train leaders and facilitate organizational change. Patty was responsible for designing and implementing the change management methodology for SAP implementation, an enterprise-wide information system critical for inventory management and financial decision-making. This experience launched her executive coaching practice, as she became intimately involved with the international issues facing top management. She led a world-wide competency study and produced reports that received applause from the Board of Directors. Her recommendations were accepted, mapping the path for sustaining a competitive leadership advantage in the marketplace.
Patty successfully completed a 3-year consulting engagement with one of our nation’s top rated hospitals. She conducted a program comparing executive’s effectiveness to those of top rated national leaders. Her coaching focused on closing the gaps found in the comparison. Using leadership development tools and processes developed by the research of Dr. David McClelland, (Professor Emeritus, Harvard University,) Patty’s assistance resulted in a successful organizational turn-a-round. Post assessment measures show her clients performance ranking among the nations top leaders.
Among her most diverse and creative skills used to inspire others is her use of corporate sketch-comedy, humor and multi-media. She is the designer and producer of a hilarious theater show entitled, “Environ-mental Hazards.” Clients used this show to entertain and educate staff on the 6-key essentials of top performance.
Born in Kansas City, Missouri, Patty was born into a family of entrepreneurs. She received her Master’s degree in Organization & Human Resource Development from University Associates in San Diego, California and attended their renowned residential internship program. She recalls beginning her career at the age of 13 after witnessing communication breakdowns among loved family members. Since that time she has fed her curiosity by studying peak performance. Sincere in this endeavor, Patty has participated in unprecedented personal development trainings and humbled herself at the feet of Masters in the human potential field. She holds 15 coaching and training certifications and has been assessed as a “Master” coach.

Self Employment Consulting - Sample Client Engagements
(1996 ) Founded CEO Consulting & Training Services. A sole proprietorship with contract employees. Formed educational comedy troupe, The Chief Entertainment Officers.
ABB Randall. Invited by the CEO to facilitate strategic planning sessions with executive team experiencing decision-making challenges. After three planning retreats, the President contracted with Patty to act as internal change agent, mentoring senior leaders and designing process improvements needed to build the 9th largest gas processing plant in record-breaking time. Revenues increased by 35% per man-hour upon completion of her three-year engagement. (1996 to 1999)
Rice University. Won a two-year engagement to develop leadership capability to fulfill strategic facilities initiative. Hired by the VP of Engineering, Patty assessed organizational capability and designed talent management programs that would support the campus expansion project. Pre- and post-assessments showed significant productivity improvements. (1999 to 2000)
Rare Medium. Hired as VP Leadership & Organizational development for an internet consulting professional services firm. Designed and delivered talent enhancement programs to align, and retain top talent from a merger of eleven companies. (2000 to 2001)
Fortune 100 Company. Designed and delivered the “Employee Orientation Early Show,” a new -hire orientation program utilizing entertainment to deliver critical messages. This program replaced the existing classroom orientation program resulting in a 40% improvement in attendance. After six months, the client asked us to lengthen the program by three additional hours, based on employee’s enthusiastic request for more orientation information. CEO co-delivered this program for 18 months in partnership with internal trainers. After one year, CEO was invited to manage quarterly leadership communication forums using humor and multi-media to engage the audience. (2000-2001)
The Hay Group International. Contract trainer delivering workshops and executive coaching to Houston clients, including 300 leaders at Texas Children’s Hospital and 50 high potential leaders at Enron. Patty is currently one of seven freelance sub-contractors, certified to deliver the Hay Group’s executive leadership program. (1996 – 2000)
Texas Children’s Hospital. Hired by the CIO to assist with a multi-year organizational improvement turnaround. Work included strategic planning with Baylor University, Rice University and the Hospital to clarify strategic imperatives among the three research, education and delivery organizations. The plan was implemented by designing and implementing the first operational planning and tracking process which was enthusiastically received by management. An enterprise-wide governance structure was established to prioritize IT projects. Projects integrated change management methodology to mitigate risks. Quarterly performance management programs were designed and supported by HR and results compared annually to the strategic plan. Senior team reported a 20% budget savings after completing the first off-site planning retreat. Turnaround was assessed as successful as measured by the hospital’s readiness to lead an enterprise-wide IT transformation using EPIC software. (2005-2007)
